Smart deformation clothing with Intel Curie wearable module

To showcase the potential of the wearable module Curie, Intel teamed up with architecture sportswear designer Chromat to launch two "responsive garments", one for sports underwear and one for dresses. The clothes will be deformed according to the user's body temperature, adrenaline or pressure level.

Intel's Curie is a button-sized module with a low-power 32-bit Intel Quark microprocessor, 6-axis motion sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, digital signal processing (DSP) sensor hub, pattern matching technology, low power consumption Bluetooth and 384 kB flash, 80 kBRAM. Curie can be embedded in wearable devices for health, fitness, social and other aspects, energy efficient, with a dedicated software platform.

The Curie module will be shipped to specific original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) at the end of the year, but many companies are already experimenting with this equipment. One of them is Chromat in New York. Chromat presented two Curie costumes at Made Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show.

Chromat Adrenaline Dress is a black dress that is made of neoprene on a 3D printed panel with a carbon frame on the back. The design of the clothes is similar to the fact that some birds will fry when they are threatened, making themselves look bigger. The carbon fiber frame is activated by shape memory alloys. When it detects an increase in adrenaline concentration, the carbon fiber frame expands into an hourglass shape. The increase in the concentration of adrenaline is known by an increase in sweating and an increase in the rate of respiration.

Chromat Aeros Sports Bra is a sports underwear made of Lycra man-made elastic fiber, mesh, neoprene and 3D printing frame. Like the dress, the underwear also incorporates a shape memory alloy, but it is used for ventilation and ventilation. When the underwear detects a user's sweating, breathing and body temperature changes, the ventilation holes in the underwear are opened to provide a cool airflow. When the temperature drop is detected, the undergarment closes the vent.

Although this sounds like a good idea, neither the skirt nor the underwear has been available yet, at least until Intel's Curie module is FCC certified.
