This production process has a long process flow, large equipment investment, and high production energy consumption. For decades, many well-known companies in the United States, Germany, Japan and other countries have been committed to research and development of new processes and new equipment, but have not yet achieved large-scale industrialization.

Professor Chen Wenxing, the president of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang Guxiandao New Materials Co., Ltd. and Yangzhou Huitong Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. have developed more than ten years of research and development projects. “Out-of-pipe falling film liquid phase viscosity-increasing reactor creation and melt The new technology of straight-spun polyester industrial yarn has successfully realized the production of high-efficiency, energy-saving, short-flow and flexible polyester filament industrial yarn. The breakthrough of this technology has transformed China's polyester industrial yarn industry technology from the past to the running type. On January 9, the project won the second prize of the 2016 National Technology Invention Award.

For more than ten years, the project team has continued to tackle the problem, innovating the melt polycondensation method, inventing the core equipment of the out-of-pipe falling film liquid phase viscosity-increasing reactor, researching and developing the whole process technology, and achieving the first straight melt of polyester industrial yarn in the world. Large-scale industrial production of spinning: shortened the process, greatly improved spinning efficiency and reduced production energy consumption.

Oerlikonbarmag, the world's largest manufacturer of spinning machines, evaluated the results: "This new technology will have a profound impact on the production pattern of polyester industrial yarn, indicating that China will lead the polyester industrial yarn. Future development.” TMT, a well-known international spinning machine manufacturer, believes: “This is a historic breakthrough in the development of polyester industrial yarn, which shows that China’s technology is a world leader in the industry.”

Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and Zhejiang local enterprise-Zhejiang Guxiandao New Material Co., Ltd. have conducted in-depth cooperation in production, education and research. In 2011 and 2014, the company built two new melts with an annual output of 200,000 tons and 300,000 tons. The spinning polyester industrial yarn production line has become the world's largest producer of polyester industrial yarn. The project has added more than 10 billion yuan in output value. The energy consumption calculation report shows that the comprehensive energy consumption of the polyester industrial silk unit products using the new technology is 35.7% lower than that of the old technology. The annual output of 500,000 tons of industrial silk can save about 64,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 167,000 tons per year.
