The edger is one of the main equipment for the production of float glass. The structure is various and is usually composed of a cantilevered toothed head, a pulling roller, a transmission mechanism and a control device. The edger is divided into two types: a pressure roller type and a nip roller type according to the contact manner of the roller head and the glass ribbon. The pressure roller type edge pulling machine, the roller head only acts on the upper surface of the glass ribbon, has simple operation and excellent effect, and is a popular edge pulling machine at present. The nip roller type edger clamps the edge of the glass ribbon through the upper and lower roller heads. This kind of edger has a large clamping force on the glass ribbon and is not easy to be detached, but in the production, the tin tank needs to consume a high amount of electricity. According to the transmission mode, it is divided into active and driven. The active edge-trimming machine itself has a transmission mechanism. By controlling the speed of the roller head and adjusting the direction of the swing angle, the glass ribbon can be throttled, thinned or thickened. The driven edger is rotated after being in contact with the moving glass ribbon. The edger mainly functions to stabilize the position of the glass ribbon.

Second, linear motor

Linear motors, also known as linear induction motors, are important devices for controlling the laminar flow of tin in the tin bath. The linear motor can locally adjust the speed and direction of the surface flow of the tin liquid according to the production process requirements, so as to improve the surface quality and stable operation of the glass surface. The practical significance of the linear motor lies in the following points: 1. Control the longitudinal tin flow to make the temperature distribution of the tin liquid in the high temperature zone more reasonable; 2. Control the lateral tin flow to make the operation of the glass ribbon more stable; 3. Can promptly remove the strand end of the tin bath The tin slag on the tin surface reduces the scratch on the lower surface of the glass ribbon; 4. Accelerates the reflow rate of the tin liquid to create conditions for pulling the glass at a high speed.

Linear motors are generally placed above the tin bath at the tip and end of the tin bath. Due to the long-term high temperature conditions, there are relatively complete cooling measures.

Three, eight-character brick

The splayed bricks are arranged on both sides of the flow channel brick (lip brick) and arranged in a figure eight shape. The main function is to stabilize the root of the glass ribbon. When the glass liquid hangs from the launder to the tin level, it immediately contacts the stile to fix the root position. The splayed bricks are positioned with water-cooled pressure bars, and the swing angle can be adjusted. The splayed bricks are generally made of refractory materials with low expansion properties.

Fourth, the rim wheel

The rim wheel is placed at appropriate positions on both sides of the tin groove to prevent the glass ribbon from oscillating. When in contact with the edge of the glass ribbon, the rotation should be flexible to avoid shear stress on the edges of the ribbon. The rim wheel is made of graphite and has a diameter of about 150 mm and a thickness of 60 mm.

Five, cooler

After the tin trough is contracted, a tube cooler is generally used in the narrow section to cool the glass ribbon. The cooler is composed of a square tube of 100 mm X 100 mm or 80 mm X 80 mm and has a width of 400 to 1000 mm. The cooler is installed on the trolley, the level can be adjusted; the tube cooler is also made into a hanging type, and the tin tank is electrically operated in and out, which is convenient to push the trolley.

Six, slag machine
